Enugu -The Enugu State House of Assembly on Thursday received a bill for the establishment of the Enugu State Investment and Human Development Authority.
The bill, sponsored Mr Ikechukwu Ezeugwu (PDP-Udenu) seeks to provide for improved opportunities for investors in the state as well as provide for well-defined training and re-training of the human capital in the state.
Also during the plenary, the sssembly committee on public accounts and anti-corruption was inaugurated by the Speaker, Chief Edward Ubosi.
In his speech, Ubosi urged the lawmakers to study the content of the bill to make robust contributions during the second reading of the executive bill.
Inaugurating the committee, he stressed its importance to the assembly and the state as it was their duty to ensure that ministries, departments and agencies complied with financial regulations and due process in government businesses.
He called on the members of the committee to work hard to ensure that public funds were properly utlilised.

Responding, the Chairman of the committee, Mr Chinedu Nwamba (PDP-Nsukka East) said it would collaborate with the auditor-general of the state to ensure that proper accounting procedures were enthroned. (NAN)
