UMUAHIA – A non-governmental organisation in Umuahia, Renaissance Family of Nigeria, on Friday urged the Christian Association of Nigeria to organise a three-day prayer and fasting to seek God’s face over the abducted schoolgirls.
The organisation made the call in a communiqué issued at the group’s national meeting in Umuahia.
A copy of the communiqué, signed by the President and Secretary of the group, Mr Ambrose Nwachukwu and Chief Ojike Kalu, respectively, was made available to News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
‘’This is the time for all patriotic and genuine Nigerians to stand together to confront the evils of Boko Haram by all means; including fasting and prayer,’’ the group stated.
It described the abduction of the schoolgirls as ‘’a monumental national embarrassment and a most reprehensible act.’’
The group expressed worry over the ‘’trauma, pains and nasty experiences’’ that the abducted girls would be going through in the hands of the insurgents.
It called for total commitment and concerted efforts of all Nigerians to secure the release of the innocent girls from their abductors. (NAN)
