Abuja-The Minister of the FCT, Sen. Bala Mohammed, on Sunday in Abuja said his administration has intensified work on the on-going construction of the Karshi-Ara-Apo road.
This is contained in a statement by Mr Mohammad Sule, the Chief Press Secretary to the minister.
“In order to tackle the traffic congestion along the Abuja-Keffi road at Nyanya, the FCT Administration has intensified work on the on-going construction of the Karshi-Ara-Apo road project
“This will serve as an alternative to the motorists moving towards the North-East axis of the country,’’ the statement quoted Mohammed as saying.

It stated that the minister said this when he met with some engineers of the FCT Administration on how to tackle headlong the traffic bottleneck at the Nyanya axis.
“The administration is concerned about the plight of the residents of FCT plying that route.
“That is why serious attention has been given to on-going construction work of this very important segment road,’’ Mohammed said.
The minister also said President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration was a responsive government and would do everything possible to make the traffic problem along that axis history.
According to the statement, Mohammed said the construction work on the Karshi–Apo road was already 65 per cent complete, while the Karshi–Ara axis was 25 per cent complete.
“The total length of the Karshi-Apo axis of the road is 13.2 km and the entire distance has been cleared with all the culverts completed.
“Also, 9.0 km formation of the road has already been achieved, with 5.0 km of sub-base.
“The FCT Administration has conveniently achieved the laying of stone base as well as asphalt on this road, reaching 4.2 km and 3.0 km respectively,’’ it quoted him as saying.(NAN)
