ABUJA – The Abuja Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (ABUCCIMA), has said that the ongoing trade fair in the FCT, has created about 300 direct employment for the youths in the territory.
Mr Solomon Nyagba, the President of ABUCCIMA, organisers of the fair, made the disclosure on Thursday in Abuja in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
He said that the ninth Abuja International Trade Fair which began on Tuesday Sept. 23 and expected to end on Oct. 6 would keep a lot of youths busy.
He added that it would also generate income for exhibitors, promote local contents and encourage small and medium scale entrepreneurs. [eap_ad_1] The ABUCCIMA president said that some of the youths that were casually engaged for the fair would end up getting permanent jobs with the exhibitors.
Nyagba said the chamber spent millions of naira to make the fair worthwhile, adding that the exhibition covered all aspects of business and economic activities in Nigeria.
“The fair offers unique meeting points for Nigerian and foreign policy makers, industrialists, manufacturers, suppliers, buyers and users of a wide range of goods and services.
“It also offers opportunities for investment and promotion,’’ he said, adding that the fair would accelerate development of commerce and industry, revitalise and diversify the Nigerian economy. (NAN)
