LAGOS – The 2Side Modelling Management Academy, Lagos, on Thursday, said it would present N800,000 as prize money to the winner of its forthcoming modelling competition on Dec. 29.
The Managing Director of the Academy, Mrs Juliet Geoffrey, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos that 20 girls were set to showcase their talents at the competition.
She said “the competition is to encourage the youth to improve their talent and be self-fulfilled.
“The N800,000 prize money would be given to the winner to encourage her to build a career in modelling.’’
Geoffrey explained that the competition would hold on Dec. 29, at Golden Tulip Hotel, Amuwo Odofin, Lagos.
She added that the competition would entail catwalk and exhibition of different potential.
She noted that the churning out of up-and-coming models would boost advertising and marketing in the country.
“Youths are our tomorrow’s leaders and their proper development will facilitate the growth of the nation.
“The Academy will train talented models to enable them to make their mark, “ Geoffrey said.
She then urged stakeholders in the modelling industry to collaborate with the Federal Government to achieve the aims of the current transformation agenda.
“Youths need to be transformed, for them to be useful to the nation,’’ she added. (NAN)
