ISEYIN – Former governor of Oyo state, Sen. Rashidi Ladoja, on Tuesday predicted victory for the Accord Party (AP) in the state’s 2015 governorship election.
Ladoja, who is also a national leader of the AP, gave the prediction in Iseyin on Tuesday during the official defection of Sen. Gbenga Babalola, to the party.
He said that the AP had done enough to convince the people of the state to vote for its candidate in the 2015 general elections.
“We welcome Babalola into Accord Party; I want to assure you on behalf of other members that you will enjoy your stay with us. [eap_ad_2] “I also want to assure you that you have equal right with those that have been in the party before now, we’ll not discriminate against you and other people you are bringing in,’’ he said.
The former governor, who promised that the AP would rule with different touch and run an all inclusive regime, claimed that the party’s manifesto would address the yearnings of the citizenry.
He also admonished party faithful who had yet to register with INEC or collect their permanent voter cards to do so in their respective local government areas.
Also speaking, Babalola, a senator who represented Oyo North under the PDP between 2007 and 2011, said he opted for the AP because of its unique programmes for the masses.
He promised the party’s leadership and the followers that he would do his best to garner support for the party in the Oyo North senatorial district.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that hundreds of party loyalists were at the Aseyin’s palace in Iseyin where the defection took place. (NAN)[eap_ad_3]
