KADUNA – The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), on Thursday, congratulated the new Emir of Kano, Malam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, on his appointment.
The National Publicity Secretary of the Forum, Alhaji Muhammad Ibrahim, said this in a statement made available to newsmen in Kaduna.
Ibrahim said the selection of Sanusi by the Kano Emirate kingmakers was an act destined by Allah, who alone gives leadership to whoever He wishes.
He prayed Allah to give the new emir the wisdom and courage to see the new position as the father of Kano people, Northerners and Nigeria at large.
The national publicity secretary urged Sanusi to bring his wealth of experience, competence and exposure to bear in uniting the royal family members and the people of Kano State.
He said that the advice became necessary to ensure peaceful transition and continuation of the good legacies of the late Emir of Kano, Ado Bayero.
“We pray that Almighty Allah will protect and guide the new emir and bless his reign with peace, unity and development,” he prayed.
The ACF image maker called on the new emir to uphold the sanctity of the traditional institution and consider his appointment as a rare opportunity to serve his people.
He urged the people of Kano to accept what had been decreed by Allah and extend their support and cooperation to the new emir for peace to reign.
According to Ibrahim, violence and destruction have never solved problems, rather, they aggravate it and retard the progress of a nation.
He also urged Nigerians to always seek peaceful and acceptable ways of resolving disagreements for the overall benefit of the country. (NAN)
