YOLA – The Adamawa State Acting Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, on Friday picked expression of interest form to contest for the Oct. 11 governorship by-election in the state.
Fintri, who confirmed this to newsmen in Yola, said he decided to pick the form to contest on the platform of the PDP based on popular demand.
“The voice of the people is the voice of God, and I have no option than to succumb to the sustained pressure by the people of Adamawa to join the race. [eap_ad_1] “I am a grassroots politician who has been in touch with the people since I join politics and all my actions has been guided by the people,’’ he said.
He described his modest achievements in one month as one of the major factor that endeared him to the people of Adamawa.
The acting governor said that within that short period he was able to give the people a sense of belonging.
The state Secretary of PDP, Mr Shehu Tahir, said he was not aware of the development.
Tahir, however, said that Fintiri had the constitutional right to vie for the exalted office if he so wishes. (NAN)
