ADC Plateau Moves to Purge Register Ahead of 2027 Elections

Abuja (Sundiata Post) – The Plateau State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has officially kicked off its Membership Revalidation, Mobilisation, and Registration (MRMR) exercise. This strategic move aims to fortify the party’s grassroots presence in preparation for upcoming Local Government elections and the 2027 general elections.

At a briefing held at the party’s state secretariat in Jos, leadership outlined a roadmap designed to ensure transparency and “internal democracy” through a credible party register.

The party leadership, led by State Leader Solomon Dalung, emphasized that the revalidation exercise is the gatekeeper for all future party activities.

“Only members with documented registration and valid ADC membership cards will be eligible to vote or contest in the direct primaries”, Dalung said.

According to him: “Members are strictly warned against purchasing forms or cards from unauthorized individuals. To avoid impostors, all transactions must go through official ward, local government, or state structures.

“Guidelines and nomination forms for Chairmanship and Councillorship positions have been received from the National Headquarters and are ready for distribution.

“The ADC is positioning itself as a disciplined alternative on the Plateau, focusing on structural integrity to ward off outside interference.

“Our internal democracy begins with credible membership,” Dalung stated, noting that the party is aware of attempts by rival interests to infiltrate their ranks.

“Leadership will soon meet with the Plateau State Independent Electoral Commission to harmonize modalities for the local polls”, he emphasized.

On hos part, the State Chairman, Sam Gyang said he is set to release detailed nomination procedures following a final round of talks with party stakeholders.

Both the Chairman, Gyang and chairmanship aspirant Mangut Peter shared an optimistic outlook, asserting that this revalidation drive will solidify the ADC’s standing as a formidable contender in the state’s political landscape.
