BAMAKO – Malian authorities will establish a school of Journalism and Communication Sciences (ESJSC) to train professional journalists for specialisation in fields of economy, democracy and environment.
This is according to a communiqué issued on Wednesday at the end of a meeting of the council of ministers.
The school will also train specialists in the management of media houses.
The communiqué indicated that the decision to open the school followed the shortage of journalists in those specialised areas.
Most Malian professional journalists were trained in Senegal, Russia and France. (PANA/NAN)
