ABUJA – The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) said the current disruption of electricity supply to some parts of Abuja was due to burnt 60MVA transformer at the 132/33KV transmission station at the Apo District.
A statement issued in Abuja on Wednesday by the Head of Public Relations and Media of the AEDC, Mr Ahmed Shekarau, said the disruption happened on Sept. 16. [eap_ad_1] The statement said the areas affected by the disruption include Areas 1, 2, 3, 7, 8 and 11 all in Garki, parts of Central Business District, as well as parts of Asokoro, Kpaduma Hill and its environs.
“Other areas affected, according to the statement, are Apo and environs, the Apo Legislators’ Quarters, Durumi 1 and II, Lokogoma and Kabusa districts, the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, among others,’’ it stated.
According to the statement, AEDC is liaising with the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) to ensure that the challenge is speedily addressed and normal supply restored.
The company appealed for the understanding of customers in the affected areas. (NAN)
