LAGOS – The Nigeria Squash Federation (NSF) on Wednesday in Lagos said sponsors of the forthcoming African Squash Championships (ASC) would get tax rebates as incentive.
The federation’s President, Adamu Erena, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) the incentive was to attract corporate bodies to sponsor the championships.
Fifteen countries have been invited to participate in the forthcoming African Squash Championships scheduled for May 4 to May 9 in Abuja.
“Whoever sponsors, as long as that individual is a registered company, will be given a tax rebate. The National Sports Commission (NSC) is involved in this and, with more awareness, we are hopeful.
“This is a project we want to see out successfully, without any hiccup. We believe that public-spirited Nigerians, and even expatriates, will come to our aid,’’ Erena said.
The last edition of the championship was held in Namibia.(NAN)
