Abuja (Sundiata Post) – The Israeli Prison Service has confirmed the release of 39 more Palestinian prisoners from prison in exchange for the release of 17 hostages by Hamas on Sunday.
Hamas had released 17 hostages, including 14 Israelites and three foreign nationals in exchange for 39 Palestinians.
Today is the third day of a four-day pause in fighting between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip. Hamas has handed over hostages on each day, in exchange for Palestinian prisoners released by Israel.
The exchange on the second day of the four-day truce was delayed for hours over Hamas’s allegations that Israel was violating the truce deal.

The Society says the highest number of detainees hail from Hebron in the occupied West Bank.

It added that41 journalists were arrested and 29 remain in detention, saying that 1,624 administrative detention orders were either issued or renewed, while six prisoners died in custody or detention.
