Abuja- Mr Jimmy Agbaje, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Lagos State gubernatorial candidate, promised to break the jinx in the state by winning the governorship election to unseat the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2015 elections.
He said this while speaking with newsmen at the PDP two-day National Convention at the Abuja Eagle Square on Wednesday.
Agbaje lamented that the people of Lagos were suffering in the hands of the APC-led government, which he said, was due to be changed.
Some 3,073 delegates from the 36 states of the federation and the FCT are to ratify the position of Alhaji Adamu Mu`azu as the PDP National Chairman and President Goodluck Jonathan as the party`s sole presidential candidate.
Chairman of the Convention Planning Committee, Alhaji Haliru Bello, in a welcome address, declared that the exercise was meant to properly elect Mu`azu and three other members of the PDP National Working Committee (NWC).
The two other affected NWC members are the party`s National Secretary, Prof. Wale Oladipo, and its National Auditor, Mr Adewale Adeyanju.
According to him, the convention will proceed to elect the party’s presidential candidate on Thursday.
Before the commencement of the ratification of PDP National Chairman by delegates, the party leaders left the state box to felicitate with their delegates at their various stands.
