BAUCHI – The Bauchi State Agency for the Control of HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis, Leprosy and Malaria (BACATMA), on Wednesday, said it distributed 10 motorbikes to Tuberculosis Supervisors to further strengthen service delivery in the state.
The Chairman of the Agency, Dr Abdulazeez Manga, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Bauchi.
He said the measure was to ensure that health care services on the disease reached remote communities.
According to him, the motorbikes will ease transportation problems in such a way that whenever there is suspected case, the supervisors will get to the location without much hitch.
Manga said the supervisors were also expected to monitor and refer TB cases to the nearest treatment centre.
“We provided the 10 motorbikes as additional logistics to supervisors so that they will enter into remote areas, sensitise them and monitor patients.
“The supervisors will also refer patients to treatment centres nearest to them.’’ (NAN)
