Lagos – Mr Babajide Ayo-Hamilton, an agricultural expert on Friday advised young farmers to plough back their profits into the agricultural sector in order to increase their yields.
Ayo-Hamilton, who is the Chief Executive Officer of Sherlocks Consultancy, Agege, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos that ploughing back profits had numerous advantages.
He said that many young farmers opted out of the business because they ended up squandering their profits on domestic issues and luxurious lifestyles.
“As a young businessman, you must be able to save your profits and put it back into the running of your business.

“Your farm is your business and if it cannot thrive, it will crash,” he said.
The expert said that achieving profitability was a significant milestone for many small farmers because this achievement prevents farmers from incurring additional debts.
Ayo-Hamilton advised youths all over the country to take to farming even as a part time profession, saying that there were numerous advantages attached to it.
He expressed optimism that 2016 would benefit many farmers as a result of the friendly policy of the Federal Government. (NAN)
