ABUJA (Sundiata Post) – President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, CON has felicitated the elder statesman and former governor of Ogun state, Chief Segun Osoba on the occasion of his 85th birthday.
In a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Hon. Eseme Eyiboh, the Senate President described Chief Osoba as a veteran journalist, who was the first Nigerian to have won the prestigious Nieman Fellowship for Journalism.
Akpabio said “I know Chief Segun Osoba as a man of excellence and impeccable integrity. His public service was without blemish and as a statesman today, he has remained as reservoir of wisdom, especially for upcoming leaders”
He said as a respected politician and certified democrat, who was governor between 1992 and 1993 and 1999 and 2003 was among those who laid the foundation for the current democratic dispensation that Nigerians are enjoying today.
The Senate President noted that as governor of Ogun state, Osoba exuded exemplary leadership by embarking on ambitious, sustainable and impeccable projects, which have stood the test of time.
