UYO – The four local government areas that make up Eket federal constituency in Akwa Ibom State have concluded plans for the grand reception of Mr Udom Gabriel Emmanuel, the Secretary to the State Government who hails from the area.
The ceremony is scheduled for Tuesday October 14, 2014, at the Eket Township Stadium by 10am and will be chaired by Nduese Essien, a former of the house of representatives and a delegate to the just concluded national conference.
Governor Godswill Akpabio is expected as the special guest of honour.
According to Usoro Usoro, a member of the planning committee, the reception is intended to thank the state governor for appointing one of their illustrious sons into such an exalted position.
Among those expected as guests are the Deputy Governor, Lady Valerie Ebe; the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Elder Sam Ikon; members of the National and State House of Assembly, State Executive Council members, political office holders as well as paramount rulers and royal fathers of the federal constituency, senior citizens, captains of industry, stakeholders, women and youth groups and indeed the entire people of the state.
Udom, a former director at Zenith Bank has indicated interest to contest the forthcoming primary elections of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as a governorship aspirant and is believed to have the support of the governor.
