The wife of the Nasarawa State Governor, Hajiya Salamtu Al-Makura, on Wednesday announced a donation of N3.5 million to the state’s 1,773 pilgrims in Saudi Arabia, to reduce their financial difficulties.

Al-Makura, who announced the donation when she visited the pilgrims in their camp, said that each pilgrim would receive 50 Saudi Riyals, about two thousand naira.

“I know that the donation is timely as you strive to maintain your financial burden with the difficult part of the hajj rites.

She urged the pilgrims to exercise restraints and avoid frivolous shopping, advising them to spend their money on eating balanced diet and to drink enough water to avoid dehydration.

Al-Makura congratulated the pilgrims for the successful performance of the rite of standing at the plains of Mount Arafat.

She also commended the female pilgrims for being good ambassadors of the state and the country through exemplary conduct, urging them to pray for the peace and stability of Nigeria.
