Alaafin, army chief commend conduct of election in Oyo

Oyo (Oyo State)- The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba  Lamidi Adeyemi,  has enjoined  Nigerians  to accept the result of  Saturday’s election in good faith.

The traditional ruler spoke to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN)  on Saturday after  casting his vote at his Ward 1,Unit 1, Oke Afin, Oyo, Polling Unit  at about 2.30 p.m.

Adeyemi, who said  there was no recorded incidence of violence in the area urged voters  to wait for their votes to be counted.

He, however, urged  INEC to resolve the challenges associated with the card readers even as he expressed optimism that the poll would be successful.

The General Officer Commanding,  2 Division, Ibadan,  Maj.Gen. Sani Muazu, also  expressed satisfaction over the voting exercise.

Muazu said this at the Division’s  headquarters after a monitoring exercise.

While commending other service chiefs for ensuring a peaceful election in the state, he said  President Goodluck Jonathan had  also expressed satisfaction in ensuring a peaceful election. (NAN)
