OSOGBO – A former governor of Kebbi State, Alhaji Adamu Aliero, on Saturday said he was confident of a successful governorship primary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State.
Aliero, who is the Chairman of the Osun 2014 primary election committee, made this known to newsmen during the primaries in Osogbo.
He said the PDP was a party committed to democratic ideals “that is why we are having the primary in the open.
“With the arrangement on ground, there will be no problem as all the aspirants are matured politicians,’’ he said.
Aliero said his committee was ready for a primary that would be a point of reference.
Also, Alhaji Shuaib Oyedokun, a member of the PDP Board of Trustee, told newsmen that the PDP remained the party that respects internal democracy.
“As you can see, every member of the party understands the seriousness of this exercise,’’ Oyedokun said.
Prof. Wale Oladipo, National Secretary of the PDP, also commended the arrangement of the accreditation.
NAN reports that the Nigeria Police, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp, Department of State Security and the Federal Road Safety Corp, were present at the venue of the exercise. (NAN)
