The Niger State governor, Dr. Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu has sacked 178 special assistants and coordinators even as he has described the last Niger East by-election as the toughest election since he came to power
Aliyu stated that all political liaison officers have been sacked and they are to reapply for a fresh appointment because it was discovered that they are not linking up with their people. He urged all political appointees to always link up with their people.
On the by-election he said it was the toughest election for the party because of internal problems that was characterised by greed, insincerity and general lack of discipline which made coordination very difficult for the party during the election period.[eap_ad_2]
Aliyu who said this yesterday while receiving the certificate presenters to Dr. Shem Nuhu Zagbayi the senator-elect for Niger East stated that the election was more difficult for him than even his election as governor, according to report from Leadership
Aliyu said that the election has served as a wake up call for them not to take people’s support for granted and strengthen their link with the electorate saying “We have the most registered voters in the state. It is our government since 1999. The problem is sometimes if you are at all the time succeeding, you may tend to take things for granted.”
The governor also promised to woo David Umaru to the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) saying that he has contested three times under the opposition platforms and could not win election.[eap_ad_3]
