…To Receive Leadership Award On September 28

National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief John Odigie-Oyegun has commended the non-profit women and youth empowerment initiative founded by wife of the Executive Chairman, Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Mrs. Aisha-Nse Adamu Candido.
Oyegun while applauding the initiative said it represents the true spirit of the APC.
The APC National Chairman disclosed this in a statement signed by the Assistant Director, Publicity Edegbe Odemwingie made available to Sundiata Post on Saturday.
Chief Oyegun who received board members of non-profit organisation in his office at the APC National Secretariat on Friday evening, said the empowerment initiative represents the “true spirit of the APC” in ensuring social inclusion and catering for the poorest and vulnerable Nigerians.
Also, the APC National Chairman accepted to receive an “excellent leadership award” which will be formally presented to him by the non-profit organisation at a graduation ceremony for beneficiaries on Thursday 28th September.
The statement reads in part:
“I am very glad, very impressed by the magnitude of efforts that you have taken. I saw the long list of beneficiaries, who have learnt skills as a result of which they are now basically independent and can fend for themselves. So it is an effort that needs to be recognised. I want to thank and congratulate you and say that you represent the true spirit of the APC which is making sure that Nigerians can take care of themselves, particularly like you said the widows and the orphans. Those are the margins of society.
“I want to say because of that, I will be glad to attend the graduation ceremony and accept the award. I think it will be good that at the highest level of the party, we solidarise with you and identify with what you are doing and let the whole world know that you are a true reflection of the high ideals of the APC.” Odigie-Oyegun said.
In her remates, the wife of the Executive Chairman, Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) and Founder Non-Stop Empowerment and Girls Education Initiative, Mrs. Aisha-Nse Adamu Candido disclosed that at the graduation ceremony, equipments will be presented to the graduands.
She also disclosed that the non-profit organisation has so far empowered over 2000 women and youth in terms of skill acquisition.
“We have taught women and youth on ICT, catering, fashion designing and many other skills. The people we are capturing are the vulnerable women, widows, orphans, people with disabilities and less privileged in the society. We have five centres presently, if we get support from corporate bodies and individuals, we hope to increase the number of centres so that we can reach more people.” She disclosed.
