The charge d’affairs of the US embassy in Nigeria, David Young has called for an investigation into the incidence of the erroneous bombing of an IDP camp in Maiduguri.
Speaking during his speech at a conference to mark the Religious freedom day in Abuja, the envoy expressed the condolences of the US embassy and sympathized with the families of the victims.
Calling for religious tolerance from all faiths he pointed to the example of Thomas Jefferson who moved the meal time in his home forward to accommodate a fasting guest from Tunisia.
David Young reiterated the US commitment to help Nigeria win the fight against Boko Haram and ISIS.
