AWKA (SUNDIATA POST)- The Speaker, Anambra House of Assembly, Dr Somto Udeze, has eulogised the founding fathers of the state for their vision and contributions.
Udeze’s goodwill message to the people of the state was issued on Tuesday in Awka on the occasion of the 33rd anniversary of the state’s creation.
He stated that all the governors, past and present, had made significant contributions in different measures to the peace, unity and development of the state through selfless service as chief executives.
He said that Gov. Chukwuma Soludo’s administration had made significant strides in road infrastructure, healthcare, employment, security, youth empowerment, agriculture, and environmental regeneration, the economic challenges, notwithstanding.
The speaker called on the privileged citizens of the state and corporate organisations to partner with the government to boost industrial revolution and contribute to state security.
“I want to congratulate the people of Anambra on the anniversary and pay tribute to those who have made the state proud in various fields.
“Let us continue to pray for peace and progress of our dear state and for the founding fathers, especially those still alive, that God will grant them strength and good health to continue to serve as a beacon to the state and its citizens,” he said.
Anambra was created on Aug. 27, 1991 from the old Anambra with Awka as its capital. (NAN)
