Awka – The Anambra State Government has commenced another round of distribution of relief materials worth N20million to no fewer than 300 victims of last year’s flood disaster.
The relief materials which include: thousands of bags of cement, beans, garri and maize were distributed on Thursday at the headquarters of the Anambra State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) Awka.
Chief Paul Odenigbo, the Executive Secretary of the agency, said at the event that the items were donated to individual-flood victims by the presidential committee on flood relief and rehabilitation.
He said that the committee distributed the relief materials to the victims through the state government which had persistently been intervening on their behalf.
