The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Public Affairs, Dr. Doyin Okupe has said that the Presidency is not interested in the All Progressives Congress convention which recently held in Abuja.
Okupe was speaking in context of the remarks made by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar. Atiku had accused the Presidency of being behind a story in a National Daily which said he had been zoned out of the APC Presidential candidacy.
“How is that Jonathan’s business now?” He asked, adding, “Is Presidency the publisher of the newspaper?”
Okupe further stated, “We have no interest whatsoever in the convention of the APC and the goings on within APC. We don’t see APC as any serious threat to PDP or to Jonathan if he wants to contest.
“Atiku is just grandstanding. Let him go and face his enemies from within. We have no business with it. It is not our business, we are not interested. We really don’t take him too serious. So, it is not an issue,” he stated. (The Herald)
