AWKA (SUNDIATA POST)- Mr Paul Chukwuma, an All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant in the November 8, 2025 Anambra election says it is gladdening that prominent politicians in the state are embracing the party.
Anambra is the stronghold of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) with Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) a major force.
Chukwuma told newsmen on Thursday in Awka that the tide was fast changing as more prominent politicians were embracing the ruling party at the federal level.
“After we repositioned the APC, many politicians are beginning to join us because our job is yielding good fruits,’’ he said.
He said if given the APC ticket in the election and with the support from party members, he would defeat the ruling APGA.
“I am sure that I will clinch the APC primary election ticket in Anambra state and move to win the governorship election.
“I have laid a solid foundation for the APC to win the governorship election in Anambra state.
“In my campaign council we have a strong structure and also reaching out to members of our party to win the governorship primary election,” he said.
“I have the capacity to win both the primary and main election for our party because I have remained devoted to the APC in Anambra State.
The aspirant, however, said consultations were still ongoing within the party to produce a credible candidate from the party’s primary election.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that so far three aspirants, namely, Mr Paul Chukwuma, Mr Nicholas Ukachukwu and Prof. Obiora Okonkwo have declared interest to contest the APC governorship primary election.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has scheduled the state governorship election for November 8, 2025. It is one of the off-cycle polls in the nation’s election calendar. (NAN)
