APC presidential convention: Buhari wins with 3,430 votes

ABUJA (SundiataPost) – Former head of state, General Muhammadu Buhari has won the presidential primary election of the All Progressives Congress (APC) held at Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.
After counting of votes today (Thursday), Buhari polled 3,430 votes to beat his closest rival, Dr. Rabiu Kwankwaso, governor of KANO State, who scored a distant 974 votes.
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, who had earlier conceded defeat while counting was going on, polled 954 votes.
The governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, got 624 votes while the founder of Leadership newspaper, Sam Nda-Isaiah, managed to get 10 votes.
There were 16 invalid votes.
Buhari will now contest the 2015 presidential election against President Goodluck Jonathan, who is candidate of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP),
