Enugu –   A presidential aide, Mrs Juliet Ibekaku-Nwagwu, says the turnout of voters for the presidential primaries of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Enugu State is a vote of confidence on  President Muhammudu Buhari.

Ibekaku-Nwagwu , Special Adviser to President on Justice Reform, said this in a statement made available to newsmen in Enugu on Saturday.

She said that the peaceful conduct of the party faithful who turned out in their large numbers, was a confirmation of the popularity of the president in the area.

The presidential aide, who is a senatorial aspirant in Enugu west, also said that the success of the exercise indicated the acceptability of the APC in the state.

“This clearly confirms the popularity of President Muhammadu Buhari in the state. It also indicates the level of acceptability of the party in the state.

“I, therefore, wish to thank everyone who came out to cast their vote for Mr. President as the unopposed candidate of the party at the forthcoming presidential elections in 2019,” she said.

Ibekaku-Nwagwu said that the president was determined to set the country on the path of economic recovery and also ensure the eradication of corruption to a reasonable level.

“All he needs is our support. To achieve this, we must come out en masse and vote for him during the general elections.

The senatorial aspirant also thanked her constituents for their encouragement in her quest to represent Enugu West Senatorial zone.

“I wish to assure all that I will not relent in any of my promises if I am voted in so that I can join hands with colleagues to ensure the success of Mr. President’s programmes,” Ibekaku-Nwagwu said.
