lLORIN – The Kwara State Police Command has deployed 3, 200 personnel to ensure peaceful ward congresses of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Saturday.

The Commissioner of Police, Mr Ambrose Asaibor, disclosed this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Ilorin.

The police chief said officers and men had already been posted to the 193 wards in the state.

Asaibor said the Divisional Police Officers and Area Commanders in the state would also be on patrol to ensure smooth and peaceful conduct of the exercise.

He, however, assured the people of the state of adequate security of lives and property at all times.

The party’s interim Secretary, Mr Yemi Afolayan, said members were fully prepared for the congress.

Afolayan advised party supporters to allow peace to reign before, during and after the congresses. (NAN)
