Abuja – The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has called on Nigerians to strive towards attaining unity and peace rather than fanning the embers of ethnic crises in the country.
Mr Ifeanacho Oguejiofor, National Director of Publicity of the party, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that Nigeria needed sacrifice and love to pull out of this current discontent among citizens.
He decried situation where selfish politicians have divided the country along ethnic and religious line.

“Let us know that we don’t have any other nation apart from this country, we should stop heightening ethnic disharmony; we should stop doing things that will divide us as a nation.
“Nigeria is a blessed country like a garden that every flower matters; so whether you are Igbo or you are Yoruba we should be able to respect one another.
‘’And know that we share common humanity that if Nigeria fails, every one of us has failed.’’

Oguejiofor said sentiments have contributed immensely to the underdevelopment of the country, adding that ‘’the time to change is now’’.
On the perception that APGA is a regional party, he said that its composition and spread have debunked such sentiments.
“APGA is a national party, so people’s perception of it as a regional party is very wrong.
“We even have people elected into various positions from regions like the north. It is the perception of some Nigerians that is making APGA appear like an ethnic political party.
“If anyone tells you that APGA is a regional party, or is an Igbo party, they are not telling the truth, it is just blackmail,’’ Oguejiofor said.
