OSOGBO- Allied Peoples Movement (APM) has commended the Osun chapter of Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) for facilitating the reabsorption of sacked workers.
This is contained in a statement issued by the APM Chairman in the state, Mr Wale Adebayo, on Wednesday in Osogbo.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Gov. Ademola Adeleke had, between September and November 2022, terminated the appointment of some workers through an Executive Order.
NAN also reports that the workers were recruited by Adeleke’s predecessor, Mr Adegboyega Oyetola.
Adebayo commended the ALGON chairman, Mr Abiodun Idowu, for facilitating the reabsorption of the workers, comprising more than 1,500 teachers and some medical personnel.
He said that the move demonstrated the leadership’s commitment to propagating meaningful dividends of democracy and improving the lives of the people of the state.
The APM chairman urged the ALGON leadership to remain focused on the development of the state, particularly at the grassroots, and ignore unnecessary distractions. (NAN)
