Abuja (Sundiata Post) – Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State has called on supporters of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), to remain calm in the face of a temporary setback from the verdict of the Appeal Court that was delivered on Sunday.
The Governor said the mandate given to him by the people will not be stolen through the back door, as he has instructed his lawyers to file an appeal to the Supreme Court to challenge the ruling. https://sundiatapost.com/appeal-court-sacks-plateau-pdp-gov-mutfwang-declares-apc-candidate-winner/
He said despite the court ruling it will not deter him from working for the good of the State that overwhelmingly voted him into power.
Speaking in a statement signed by his Director of Press and Public Affairs, Mr. Gyang Bere, the Governor expressed optimism that he will reclaim his mandate at the Supreme Court.
According to him: “Despite this temporary setback, I will bounce back through the Supreme Court. This will as well not deter me from repositioning the State on the path of Unity, Peace and Progress.

“I appeal strongly to my supporters, as well as citizens of the State to maintain law and order. He
“Plateau will be victorious to the glory of God as I am totally committed to continually serve the State with dedication and integrity”, the Governor said.
Recall that the Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja on Sunday sacked the Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang from office and declared the APC Candidate Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda as the winner of the 2023 Plateau Governorship election.

The Court added that the runner up has satisfied all the requirements under relevant sections and is hereby accordingly returned.
