BIRNIN KEBBI – The National President of the Arewa Film Makers Association of Nigeria, Alhaji Abdullahi Sani, has called on the entertainment industry to uphold cultural and religious values of their communities in their profession.
Alhaji Sani, who made the call in Birnin Kebbi on Saturday at the inauguration of officials of the Kebbi State chapter of the association, also urged members to create employment opportunities.
“All societies value their cultural and religious values and we cannot conduct our activities in negligence of these values but rather propagate such rich values for others to emulate.
The state Director of Youths, Ahmad Bunza, urged the association to propagate the relevance of unity and peace in the societies.
He said that film industry had gained acceptance that needed to be made relevant and consolidated for the develpment of the society.
Alhaji Nasiru Gwandu was elected Chairman; Nasiru Umar, Vice Chairman; Mallam Hamza Samaila; Secretary; Alhaji Mohammed Kamba, Public Relations Officer and Habiba Manga, Welfare Officer.
The new chairman said the association would ensure high level of moral conduct and adherence to law and order.(NAN)
