Lagos – The Director, Nigerian Army Chaplaincy (Protestant), Col. Dawuk Danfulani, on Friday urged officers and men to put away old ways of 2015 and put on a new and improved leaf in 2016.
Danfulani told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos that the Nigerian army protestant faithful and Nigerians must always strive to be better officers and people.
“As we step into 2016, we should emulate the words of Saint Paul which invites us to a new life of positive change while putting away the old,” he said.
According to him, the New Year calls for improved loyalty and service to God and in the Nigerian military, the watch word is newness in the New Year.
“The New Year should bring forth improvement in our relationship with one another as a family at home and in defence of the nation, especially in our call to duty,“ he said.
He said that the New Year should be used to evaluate performance than 2015.
“We must proffer ways of becoming more committed and resolve to protect our nation,’’ he said.
Danfulani urged Nigerians to ensure they make good resolutions and stick to them, stressing that “it will go a long way in helping our county to be better’’. (NAN)
