Abuja (Sundiata Post) – The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, says the Nigerian Army has arrested the soldier who ranted against Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, for ordering the arrest of his colleague for driving against traffic on the Lagos-Badagry Expressway.
Addressed journalists on Tuesday in Enugu, Lagbaja said the Army is displeased with the conduct of the soldier.
The COAS said the said soldiers have been arrested and a probe is ongoing on others who had acted in the same manner.
“The Army has investigated and the soldier has been apprehended and we are investigating for every other comical that you have seen on social media,” he said.
Sundiata Post recalls that Sanwo-Olu had on January 2, ordered the arrest of a soldier and some Okada riders for driving against the traffic on the Lagos-Badagry expressway.
The governor gave the order while returning from Lagos State University (LASU), Ojo, where he had gone to inaugurate a project sponsored by Femi Gbajabiamila, Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu.
Reacting to the governor’s action, a soldier, in a widely shared video on Thursday, criticized Sanwo-Olu for labeling a soldier “useless” in front of “bastard civilians.”
