ABUJA – newly appointed Chief of Staff (COAS), General Farouk Yahaya, has reiterated centrality of air power of the ongoing fight against insurgency, armed banditry and forms of criminality the Country.

He made this assertion today (Wednesday) when he visited Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Oladayo Amao at Headquarters, Nigerian (HQ NAF), Abuja.

Yahaya said he has always been an advocate of air power employment as a critical requirement of a force having witnessed its formidable influence various theatres of . General Yahaya went on state against insurgency and armed banditry cannot be won by a single Service but rather, through a synergistic approach where all Services work unison.
According him, “The earlier we all recognise no Service can do it alone, the better for as an armed and a Nation surmount the current security challenges.” The COAS also thanked Air Marshal Amao for his continuous support the Nigerian and urged him not to relent.

While welcoming him to HQ NAF, Air Marshal Amao congratulated the COAS for his appointment and urged him to sustain synergy of efforts by the Nigerian and the NAF, in conjunction with security agencies to rid the Country of all criminal activities.
