Arsenal proved to be too much for Tim Sherwood’s Aston Villa as they romped to an emphatic four-nil victory against the Mid-land club at Wembley, yesterday.
Strikes from Walcott, Sanchez, Merstacker and Giroud were enough to hand the Gunners the FA cup for the 12th time- a record breaking feat for the Gunners as they became the most successful club in the tournament.
A full Wembley hosted the crunch encounter between Arsenal and Villa.
The blast of the whistle saw Arsenal took the ascendancy as they controlled the tempo of the game thereby reducing the Villans to ball-watching for long spells. Their approach to the game was a clear indication of Wenger’s intent and preparation for the game-a clear signal that there won’t be any surprises or shocker from Aston Villa.

The Emirates outfit despite being in control of the game in the first half were guilty of spurned chances as they failed to convert their opportunities. Theo Walcott, a major culprit.
But, it didn’t take long for the English international to atone for his earlier misses. Walcott opened the scoring with a powerful finish that gave Shay Given no chance in the 27th minute.
And it was a Cinderella story for the Gunners from the second half.
A fantastic long range effort from Sanchez in the 47th minute, followed by Mertsacker header from a corner and a Giroud finish in the closing stages of the match gave Arsenal a perfect day and beautiful end to the season as Wenger retained the FA cup he won last season.
