Yenagoa – The World Assembly of Youth (WAY) on Sunday commended the policy of youth-driven development proposed by Acting President,
Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, during Friday’s visit to Bayelsa.
The Vice President of WAY, Mr Preye Ketebu-Brown, made the commendation in a statement in Yenagoa.
Ketebu-Brown also commended the acting president’s efforts toward achieving sustainable peace through community engagement and youth empowerment in the Niger Delta.
He noted that Osinbajo’s endorsement of the concept of “Niger Delta Youth Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NDYCCIMA) was heart warming.”
He stated that the acting president made the recommendation in his address to stakeholders while on tour of Bayelsa.
He said “it was an indication of Osinbajo’s sincerity of purpose and genuine intentions of the Muhammadu Buhari administration for the region.
“The institution of chambers of commerce is time tested platform that breeds foremost business conglomerates the world over.
“Members of the Niger Delta Youth Chamber of Commerce (NDYCCIMA) received Osinbajo’s endorsement with joy as this shall further motivate Niger Delta young entrepreneurs to better appreciate devotion to business and dignity in legitimate enterprise.
“WAY will work with NDYCCIMA and the Federal Government to tap from the wealth of international and local chambers to identify and build capacity of young business owners.”
Ketebu-Brown assured the acting president of unalloyed support in efforts to stabilise the country’s economy and wished President Buhari speedy recovery.
