He said that the house would set up a committee to participate in the ongoing public hearing at the National Assembly on the possible takeover of the corps.
The speaker said the state government would ensure that the state fill its quota in the area of recruitment when government took over the corps.
Earlier, the commandant called on the lawmakers to support the corps’ struggle to become a government`s security outfit.
Ibrahim told the speaker that the state was lagging behind in the recruitment of officers into the organisation.
He said although the state was allocated 4,042 slots, but only 243 natives had filled the forms of the organisation.
He urged the leadership of the house to ensure that the state filled vacancies allocated to it by encouraging youths to join the organisation. (NAN)
