LAGOS – The Lagos State Boxing Association has postponed the March edition of the monthly Amateur Boxing Bout.
The postponement is as a result of the upcoming presidential elections, scheduled for March 28.
The Chairman of the association, Olawale Edun, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in a telephone interview on Monday that boxers should look forward to the April edition of the event.
He said that the competition had taken a championship status, where winners of different categories would meet at the end of the year to determine state champions.
“We have to put it off to enable our boxers and officials participate in the election as it is part of their civic responsibility.
