LAGOS – Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar will on Wednesday chair the Seventh Annual Conference of the Academy of Entrepreneurial Studies (AES).
The conference, which holds at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs, Victoria Island, Lagos at 9am, would take a critical look at what the future holds for Nigeria in a world where oil will no longer majorly be able to sustain the country according to a statement sent to Sundiata Post by Dr. Ausbeth Ajagu, President, Governing Council of AES.
The theme of the conference is ‘Nigerian Economy Beyond Oil’.
Ajagu said the conference would, as usual, “bring together eminent personalities, in the public and organised private sectors of the Nigerian economy, diplomatic corps, civil society, captains of industry, high serving government officials at both federal and state levels, high net worth individuals as well as academia and the media, to proffer pragmatic solutions to the subject as albatross in our quest for national development.”
Other eminent personalities/technocrats expected to grace this event of national importance include Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State as the Host Governor, with the Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas; Dr. Frank S.U. Jacobs, President, Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN); Mrs. Sally Mbanefo, Director-General, Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation (NTDC); Chief Goddy Uwazurike, President of Aka Ikenga, as the keynote speakers.
Ace comedian, Julius Agwu; strategic key players in the oil & gas, shipping/maritime, educational & agricultural sectors are equally expected to participate at the much anticipated event that is free to the general public.
