AUN offers special programme for Chibok girls

YOLA – The American University Nigeria (AUN), Yola, has commenced a special education
[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”8″]
programme for 21 Chibok girls under its scholarship programme.
The President the University, Dr Margee Ensign, said this an interview with newsmen on Monday in Yola.
Ensign said the specialised intensive programme was to prepare the girls to do well their JAMB [pro_ad_display_adzone id=”10″]examination that would enable them commence full academic programme in the university.
She also said that the university’s Peace and Community Development Programme had been very effective promoting peaceful coexistence and giving assistance to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in the state.

She said that the University collaboration with Adamawa Peace Initiative (API) was providing free feeding to IDPs as well empowering vulnerable youths in its host community.
The president said the gesture was informed by the need to provide the youths with free training literacy and entrepreneurship to enable them have a future and shield from by criminal groups such as the Boko Haram sect.
Ensign, who was recently honoured by the women wing of the Jama’atul Nasril Islam (JNI) for her contribution to peace and community development Adamawa, expressed happiness for the recognition and vowed to sustain the tempo of her activities. (NAN)
