Addis Ababa – A bus crash in Ethiopia’s Oromia region killed 16 people and seriously injured 10 others, the State-affiliated Fana Broadcaster reported on Thursday.
The accident happened on Wednesday when the bus overturned in the East Wollega area of the region.
Commander Nigussie Girma, an official with the region’s traffic police department, told Fana that the vehicle’s steering wheel had malfunctioned.
Ethiopia is investing heavily in road infrastructure projects but unskilled drivers, poorly maintained vehicles, and dilapidated roads still cause many deaths each year
