Abuja (Sundiata Post) – Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State on Friday said that the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr Iyorchia Ayu has been penciled down as Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) if the party emerges victorious at the 2023 general elections.
Wike who made the allegations during his media chat with Journalists in Rivers State, stressed that it was for that reason that Ayu is not willing to step down as the Chairman of the party despite the crisis rocking the party.
On how he feels about the betrayal by his friend, Waziri Aminu Tambuwal during the convention of the party in Abuja, Wike said he never signed any agreement with Tambuwal to be together forever as he is not his wife and he is old enough to take a decision. Wike said as a politician you must have a shock-absorber if not you will die.
In his words: It is like you having a child and that child dies, what do you do? You move on, there’s nothing you can do. He took a decision and he’s entitled to his decision.
The Rivers Governor however, expressed disappointment over the role played by the former senate president, David Mark who, as the Chairman of the Convention Committee, took the stage and declared that there’s an announcement which gave Tambuwal, who was not supposed to speak for the second time to announce that he was stepping down for Atiku and urging his supporters to vote Atiku Abubakar.
