Chairman of FC Taraba, Tijani Babangida, has said his team did not have any inferiority complex and so were able to put Enyimba to sword at the weekend.
The newly-promoted Taraba are now second on the Nigeria league table with nine points after their famous 1-0 home win over six-time champions Enyimba on Sunday.
A 36th minute strike by Bobby Abel was enough to earn the Jalingo club the maximum points and condemn two-time African champions Enyimba to their second defeat in a week.
“It was a hard earn victory, but you must give it to the boys as they were determined to get something out of the game considering the pedigree of Enyimba,” said ex-international Babangida.
“We simply told them before the game not to show any respect to Enyimba and approach the game like we have done in our other matches.
“You know we have three former Enyimba players in our squad, that also helped us to win the game.” (kickoffnigeria)
