BADAGRY (LAGOS STATE) – Mr Frank Okonkwo, Deputy Controller, Badagry Medium Prisons, has said that the prison is not congested as there was space to accommodate more inmates.
Okonkwo told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in Badagry that the decrease in the population of the inmates was as a result of prompt attention paid to bail conditions.
“The Badagry Medium Prison which has a capacity for 160 inmates is not congested.

“We have being able to manage the influx of inmates to prevent congestion which could be hazardous.
“The reason for this is that bail conditions of the inmates are always met on time,’’ he said.
The deputy controller told NAN that the completion of the prison’s administrative block currently under construction would pave way for the creation of more cells in the prison.
