New York – UN Secretary-General, Ban Ki-moon, has on Wednesday announced the appointment of Koen Davidse of the Netherlands, as the Deputy Special Representative for the UN Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA).
A UN statement in New York said he would succeed Arnauld Akodjenou of Benin Republic in September, as he would bring his 25 years of international experience to bear.
The statement noted that Davidse, served as Director of Multilateral Institutions and Human Rights at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Netherlands, and as Director of Peace-building and Stabilisation, and acted as the Dutch Special Envoy for Sudan, from 2011 to 2015.[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”70560″]
He also served in South Asia and at the Permanent Missions of the Netherlands to the UN in Geneva and New York.
In 2006, he served with the UN as Research Director for the UN Secretary-General’s High-level Panel on UN System-wide Coherence.(PANA/NAN)
