The Xploit Consulting Limited with support from Access Bank Plc on Friday donated food items and stationaries to five orphanages in the FCT.
Mrs Grace Taiwo, the Communication Director of Xploit Consulting Ltd, while handing-over the items to Hajia Ramatu Hassan, Coordinator, Al’ansar Orphanage, Kuje, FCT said that the effort was to let the orphans know that Nigerians cared and loved them.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the orphanages visited are: Daughters of Charity Orphanage, Bwari, Destined Children’s Orphanage, Kado Estate Orphanage, Best Life Orphanage, Gwagwalada and Al’ansar Orphanage, Kuje.
The items donated include food items, toiletries and stationaries.
She said that the donation of the items was part of Access Bank Plc’s corporate social responsibility.
Taiwo said that the organisations were committed to ensuring the elimination of poverty, especially among the less privileged in the country.
She noted that the organisation with support from Access Bank plc would continue to invest in the lives of Nigerians, adding that the collaboration would focus on education, health, gender equality, arts among others.
Hassan, who spoke on behalf of other orphanage coordinators, appreciated the efforts of the two organisations for their support.
She, however, called on institutions and other well meaning Nigerians to emulate the gesture.
Master Kelechi Agbo, one of the inmates of Best Life Orphanage, Gwagwalada, said he was happy with the school stationaries donated by the organisations.
Agbo said that the stationaries would boost their learning as well as helping them to learn comfortably after school in their various hostels.
He appealed to the organisations to extend their good work, especially in the area of education, adding that they needed more writing materials and other items that would enhance their learning.
The items donated to each orphanage were bags of rice, bags of semovita, groundnut oil, toilet soaps, cartons of tissues, packets of diaper, mop buckets and sticks, spaghetti, cartons of liquid milk, toiletries and stationaries.
